Well, we're home from the hospital. What a week we've had!! Kelly is feeling better, but it's going to be a long road back. The doctor estimated that she lost up to 75% of her blood volume!!! Yikes!! She's doing as well as can be expected, just gets tired easily.
Thank you so much for the tremendous outpouring of support we've received from our friends and fans. It's been truly amazing to see how everyone is so willing to step up and help out. It really does restore my faith in humanity!! :-)

Prayers and positive thoughts
I'm not huge on sharing all the details of our private lives online for the world to see, but this impacts our business to some extent, so I wanted to put it up here to bring all our extended network of photo friends and fans up to speed, as many of you have inquired on Facebook and through email if everything is okay.
Our family has had a rough time of it over the past month or so. My (John's) dad has been hospitalized for colon problems (pre-cancerous polyps) and has had to have two surgeries and several procedures to clear up polyps, remove infection, etc. He's slowly getting better, but at 83 it's a matter of three steps forward and two steps back.
Then, this past weekend, Kelly developed some problems and had to have emergency, life-saving surgery. She's going to be okay, but it was kind of a near thing for awhile. She'll be in the hospital for a week or so; the doctors are top-notch and she's expected to make a full recovery.
In the meantime, I'm spending a lot of time at the hospital and away from work, so please bear with us for a couple weeks if phones or emails go unanswered or photo orders are a couple days behind.

Johnette & Mike |
Johnny-W...flyin' solo at this wedding! That's right, Kelly had the night off, so I got to spend the evening with Johnette and Mike and share their wedding day with them. We always get along well with our couples; part of the screening process we go through is to make sure that we'll all be comfortable with each other on such a long, hectic, emotional day. But rarely do we find a couple who we are instantly comfortable with and feel true friendship with almost immediately. I was so comfortable around these two, it was easy to get amazing photos of their day (and of course it doesn't hurt that they're both gorgeous!).
